For vented crawl spaces, we typically install R-19 or R-25 unfaced fiberglass batts between floor joists and a 6-mil poly vapor barrier across the ground. For encapsulated or conditioned crawl spaces, we use rigid foam board along the foundation walls with a heavy-duty reinforced vapor barrier on the floor.
